Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) Arboriculture students were invited to an activity day organised by leading specialist equipment supplier Honey Brothers.
The company organised the day for the students, in collaboration with BTC curriculum staff, which saw the near century-old organisation demonstrate the latest state-of-the-art equipment in use within the industry.
Marcus Undrey, Tree Work Instructor, led the demonstrations, which focused primarily on the latest range of equipment from well-regarded arboriculture specialists, Notch.
Marcus also showcased a range of different climbing techniques on the College climbing site, providing the students with an in-depth overview of various methods to support their own development.
Claire Winson, Head of Animal & Environmental Sciences, said,
“Thank you to both Marcus and Honey Brothers for such a fantastic day that has inspired and complimented our students’ development! Visits like this can only lead to further interest in the arboriculture sector, and the vast industry and product knowledge is invaluable to our learners’ future careers in this industry.”
Student feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, and students left the day with their very own goodie bag of various pieces of arboriculture equipment to take home.
Honey Brothers were also kind enough to gift two brand-new climbing harnesses and kit bags to the College, which will be used in future practical lessons.
