The Walled Gardens of Cannington will be welcoming back Folksy Theatre with their touring open-air production of Shakespeare’s As You Like It, on Friday 29 July, 7pm.
Following last year’s Hamlet, Folksy Theatre celebrate the great Bard’s 400 celebrations with As You Like It. Rosalind is banished from the court and escapes into the forest disguised as a boy, Ganymede. When she meets the man she loves in the forest, she devises an elaborate scheme to find out the verity of his supposed passion for her, through the witty and mischievous fa√ßade of Ganymede.
This wonderful Shakespearian romantic comedy about life, love, betrayal, faith and death, is filled with Folksy's touch of live music, bold characters, audience interaction and plenty of laughs.
Tom Hardwicke, Director said,
“Our production is set in a timeless bohemian forest of Arden. It is filled with fun and live music and we think it is the perfect tribute to mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death.”
Bring along your picnics, blankets, folding chairs and friends and family to enjoy this wonderful open-air production. Gates open one hour before the start of the performance and the running time is approximately two hours 10 minutes (with interval).
