It was Team BC’s last home game of the season and it was against South Gloucestershire and Stroud 2 (SGS2). In their previous meeting SGS2 won very convincingly 37 – 84 by a margin of 47 points. Team BC were determined to show how much they had improved since then.

They didn’t disappoint. Liam Vickery and Jack Williams scored 18 points between them in the first quarter and led their pressure zone defence to keep SGS2 to only 7. The momentum stayed with Team BC for the second quarter with a similar score line of 16 – 6.

With a half time score of 34 – 13 Team BC knew they could be heading for a massive win at home, however. SGS2 regrouped during the half time break and started to make a comeback, switching to full court pressure defense that gave them some success.

Team BC were able to rotate every player into the game to allow some much needed rest to the starting five players and this allowed them to keep in front for the remainder of the game. Only two timeouts were needed from Coach Richard Anderson to keep the team focussed on the strategy that had worked well all game.

Final score: Team BC 66 – 52 SGS2

This win gives Team BC a 61 point turnaround from their previous loss to SGS2, showing a massive improvement that all of the players were happy to celebrate.

Team BC Scorers: Liam Vickery 23 points, Jack Williams 19 points, Spencer Gormley 10 points, Rob MacIntyre 4 points, Matt Harding 4 points, Connor Barrie 2 points, Max Elve 2 points, Adrian Zamodja 2 points.
