Bridgwater College’s Hair and Beauty department recently held an event to demonstrate the unique and creative Colour Placement System, for current apprentices and local salon owners and staff.

This colouring system is currently used in Bridgwater College’s Hair Salon as an advanced colouring technique for staff, students and members of the public, and the event started with current Hairdressing apprentices having a training session, with the Colour Placement System team.

Local hair and beauty salons were also invited to the event, to view the facilities and resources available to students and apprentices at Bridgwater College. It also gave employers a chance to find out about Apprenticeships and Traineeships, and how they can benefit their businesses.

Dan Rowe, 20 and an apprentice at Karen Christensen, Wells said,

“The day was a great opportunity to learn fresh, new things. We created some great looks for the models as we used the new tools for this fun way of creating a new look for the client.”

Carol Wilcox, Trainer Assessor at Bridgwater College said,

“It was very encouraging to have such a good representation from the hair and beauty salons from our local area. It was so good to see the guests so interested in the Colour Placement System presentation, asking questions and taking time after the demonstration to stay and talk in more detail to the trainers. Many were considering this system for their salons. The event was a great networking opportunity to grow our Hair and Beauty Apprenticeships.”
