Bridgwater College’s Childcare Centre recently held its annual Celebration Day, to say goodbye to children who are leaving to start school, and were visited by special guest, Iggle Piggle from CBeebies’ In The Night Garden.
During the day parents were welcomed to join in with the celebrations, which included fun with Krazy Kev and Dinky Dino, helping him with his magic tricks and balloon animals. Children were then able to take part in a drumming workshop, creating an amazing beat throughout the nursery. There was also a raffle, with donated prizes from local businesses, and the celebrations culminated in the children who are leaving for school being presented with a storybook.
Kate Kift, Bridgwater College’s Childcare Centre Manager said,
“The children had lots of fun enjoying all the activities. They designed some beautiful clay pictures using natural objects and were then able to turn them into stripy tigers, beautiful butterflies or any other interesting creature they wanted them to be. We would like to say a big thank you to the Early Years students who were on hand to do a fantastic job of face painting!’’
There are spaces available for the Summer Play Scheme, Tuesday 21 July – Friday 28 August, excluding bank holidays, for children up to 8 years old. Contact the Childcare Centre on 01278 441270 or email childcare@bridgwater.ac.uk.
