In partnership with Bridgwater College, Bridgwater Town FC offer a Football Development Centre for boys in years 9, 10 & 11. The Development Centre works in conjunction with local grassroots/JPL clubs and provides additional training for players and coach education for grassroots coaches.
The weekly sessions are delivered by FA/UEFA qualified staff and have a technical and tactical focus. Since it’s formulation in January 2014, the Development Centre has had a number of successes, with seven players progressing into Bridgwater Town U18’s, three players progressing into the Bridgwater Town Reserve Team Squad and three players selected for the Somerset Schools FA U16 squad.
Robert Blake Science College student Nash Eastwood is the latest youngster to have progressed through the Development Centre in to the U18’s and has featured and scored for the Reserve team.
Players who are going into U14, U15 and U16 for season 2015-2016 (currently in year 8, year 9 and year 10) are invited to attend free open training sessions for our Development Centre on the following dates at Bridgwater College:
- Monday 1 June 2015 6:30pm – 8:30pm
- Monday 8 June 2015 6:30pm – 8:30pm
- Monday 15 June 2015 6:30pm – 8:30pm
Training will take place at Bridgwater College and players are required to meet at the Sports Hall Reception at 6:15pm, with a drink and appropriate playing kit and equipment. Places are limited, so please book by emailing Bridgwater College with your name, contact details, date of birth and school on sport@bridgwater.ac.uk.
Selected players will then be invited to attend weekly training sessions on Monday evenings starting in September. A nominal fee is required to cover these weekly sessions, specific information about this will be given to successful players.
