Bridgwater & Taunton College’s Public Services and Uniformed Protective Services students recently had the invaluable opportunity to learn from Mike Adams, a Specialist Firearms Instructor from Black Rock Centre, about his extensive experience in the Marines and Police Force. Adams shared his journey, answered students’ queries, and showcased various pieces of equipment, allowing hands-on interaction.

Reflecting on the session, Adams commented, “It was great meeting you all! I fielded some really interesting questions from your students. It was also very encouraging to see that many of them had a 5 and 10-year plan already mapped out! The future looks like it will be in safe hands!”

This sentiment was echoed by students and faculty alike, highlighting the session’s impact on their understanding of protective services careers. Lecturer Nyree praised Adams’ enthusiasm and support, while students Owen Davey and Callum Lukins found the experience informative and engaging.

BTC’s commitment to incorporating external expertise into its curriculum underscores the college’s dedication to providing comprehensive and practical learning experiences, preparing students for successful futures in their chosen fields.
