Students studying Land-based, Sports or Business qualifications at Bridgwater College celebrated their successes and the end of their courses recently at an awards ceremony set in the stunning grounds of the Walled Gardens of Cannington.
More than 700 guests attended the day, which was split into two ceremonies. Steve Sudworth, Lead Ranger for the National Trust, addressed the audience for the first ceremony, for those studying land based qualifications. Local BBC Radio celebrity, Emma Britton, was guest speaker for the second, which celebrated the achievements of the College’s Business and Sport students.
During the ceremonies, a range of awards were presented to students across the curriculum in categories including the highest achiever, the most improved, most outstanding student and top practical student for each individual area.
Jason Gunningham, Assistant Principal for Land-based, Business and Sports at Bridgwater College said,
“Our student award ceremonies are a fantastic way to recognise and celebrate the efforts our students put in throughout the year. I would like to take this opportunity to show our gratitude to our guest speakers for their time and motivational words. I would also like to thank the Dave Barry Combo Band for the wonderful entertainment and Arthur David & Co Ltd for kindly providing the hospitality for the evening. This is truly an event to be remembered.”
Gorgeous weather, music by the Dave Barry Combo band and hospitality kindly provided by Arthur David & Co made the event one to be remembered.
