Celine Madsen, an Art & Design student from Norway, has become the first Bridgwater & Taunton College student of 2017/18 to receive the Reading Ahead Challenge certificate!

Open to all students, the Challenge has been run by the College’s Learning Resources Centres for a number of years and is already proving popular this year. Over 60 enthusiastic students joined up at Freshers’ Fairs recently, and others continue to do so.

Participants are invited to choose six new ‘reads’ – which may include books, newspapers, magazines or websites – and to record and review each of these in a diary. The LRC offers prizes for each read recorded, and a certificate signed by a selection of famous authors is awarded on completion of the Challenge.

The Reading Ahead Challenge is run in collaboration with the Reading Agency, a charity dedicated to promoting reading for leisure and inspiring readers of all ages.

For more information about taking part, students are welcome to pop in to any of the College LRCs or email;
