The Board of Governors of Bridgwater & Taunton College have appointed Andy Berry to become the new Principal of the College, following the impending retirement of the current Principal, Mike Robbins, at the end of this academic year.
Andy, who is the current Vice Principal, was successful following a rigorous two day interview process involving governors, staff and students.
Derek Randall, Chair of Governors, who led the recruitment panel, said,
“We are delighted to appoint Andy, who has done an excellent job for the College as Vice Principal for the past five years. We anticipate that his appointment will also ensure continuity in our progress towards achieving our ambition of becoming a world class education and training organisation, providing outstanding progression opportunities for our students, customers and communities.”
Andy Berry said,
“I am delighted at the prospect of becoming the new Principal of the College when Mike retires and look forward to working with our fantastic staff team in the new role. These are exciting times for the towns of Bridgwater and Taunton, and for Somerset generally, and I fully expect the College to continue playing a significant role in supporting their economic development through the provision of high quality academic, technical and skills programmes for our students and employers.”
