Staff from Bridgwater College were invited to the House of Commons recently to a reception that recognised the work that the College does in partnership with national employers.
The event was hosted by the Association of Colleges (AoC) and celebrated the achievements of a small number of colleges from across the country that have exhibited best practise in the sector for their work with large employers. Bridgwater College was recognised for its track record of working with high-profile employers such as the internationally-renowned brand Mulberry Group Plc and the civil engineering giant, Laing O'Rourke.
The Bridgwater College team were met at the House of Commons by Ian Liddell-Grainger, MP for Bridgwater, who said,
“Bridgwater College's work with employers is incredibly impressive and really 'sector leading' when it comes to developing training to meet the needs of the local, and national, community. I was delighted to have the opportunity to welcome the team from the College to the House of Commons and extremely proud to have such a successful college within my constituency.”
A case study describing the development of training programmes by Bridgwater College in partnership with employers, was also featured in the Association of Colleges’ annual review which is distributed to all colleges across the country. Jenny Ashworth, Director of Academic Partnerships and Marketing said,
“Bridgwater College has a long history of very successful engagement with employers of all sizes and are now recognised as the best college in the country for this partnership working. We were delighted to have this recognised by the Association of Colleges in such a prestigious location and amongst representatives from colleges and Members of Parliament from across England.”
