Elite Women’s football recorded their first win of the cat 1 season yesterday in an away league fixture against Swindon. The two sides had previously played at Taunton Town FC a week previous where the last kick of the game saw Swindon clinch the 3 points. This time round the squad was back to full strength which saw us score earlier on in the first half, with a through ball into Megan Robinson who used her strength well to fend off the defender and slot the ball into the bottom left corner. But it wasn’t smooth sailing with Swindon twice hitting the post.
But the players continued to work hard and were rewarded with their first 3 points of the season. Every player played their part in the victory and the progress the players have been making since starting the programme in September is visible to see. We end the calendar year with our last away trip of the league season against Solihull College.
