During October, members of the Bridgwater & Taunton College Engineering work-based learning staff involved with the MoD Apprenticeship programme, visited Devonport dockyard to meet their contemporaries from the MoD and to familiarise themselves with the working environment within the dockyard.

This included a boat trip to tour the dockyard and to circumnavigate Drake’s Island in Plymouth Sound. They then had a guided tour of HMS Courageous – a nuclear submarine that is decommissioned but has been maintained as it was during its service. It was a highly informative and enjoyable day.
