Last month, Commonwealth Gold Medallist and England Netball star Serena Guthrie visited the College to deliver a coaching masterclass to Team BTC netball students and staff. The session was arranged via Serena’s coaching company, Legacy Netball Ltd.

Serena delivered a session on zonal defense, setting the players up with a number of drills in which they could practice the key components for a successful zonal defence. As the players grew in confidence their success increased, and they were able to get a number of impressive turnovers through match play.

The BBC Points West team visited the College to get some shots of Serena in action and to interview her regarding her coaching company. They also interviewed Team BTC Netball Coach Paige Pople, exploring her netball experience having played for University of Bath (the home of Serena’s Superleague team, Team Bath).

The interview was aired on Friday 4 January during the BBC Points West evening show.
