As part of the Erasmus+ programme here at Bridgwater & Taunton College, the Electrical Team are involved with a European project- Safety4El which has partners from Denmark, Spain, Malta, Belgium and Cyprus.

The partners have been developing interactive eLearning materials including case studies for training risk assessment and multiple-choice questions on workplace safety to be used by electricians, apprentices, training providers and anyone employed in the construction industry. These resources provide real-life experiences and interactive activities which are free for any Electrical or Trade company to use.

Due to being a partner in this project, the College must disseminate the materials to companies in the local and national area to raise awareness and encourage them to get involved. The Erasmus+ Team and Paul Cornish; Course Leader, visited City Electrical Factors (CEF) in Bridgwater where they spoke to many of the local businesses about the opportunities of the project and how they can make use of the free resources for their employees.

It was great to visit CEF and to network with all the local tradesmen who were interested in our project. I would also like to thank all those who work at CEF who were happy to host us for our multiplier event- it was a great success and I am looking forward to hearing the feedback from the businesses now they can start using the resources.
