Students studying the CYQ Level 2 Fitness Instructing course at Bridgwater College recently participated in a Crossfit day in Taunton to discover more about the exciting fitness craze that is sweeping the nation.
Through a number of practical sessions the students were able to gain information about the opportunities available to them within the industry. They were given the chance to participate in a Crossfit training session, which opened their eyes to the diverse range of studio sessions available.
Student, Chloe Thompson, from Burnham-on-Sea, said,
“I really enjoyed Crossfit, it was very rewarding. I would definitely recommend it to others.”
James Cranmer, who is studying the CYQ Level 2 at Bridgwater College added,
“It was a good experience and I would like to see what other classes Crossfit have on offer.”
Duncan Bawler, from Crossfit in Taunton said,
“It was great having the College students visit us. I was very impressed with how well they adapted to something so different like Crossfit. The group were very well behaved, it was a pleasure to have them visit us.”
Nyree Madge, Programme Manager for CYQ, Apprenticeships and Adult Courses in Sports and Services at Bridgwater College said,
“The group worked incredibly hard during each of the practical sessions. The information they gained, I hope, will provide them with an insight to the wide variety of options available within their chosen field and help them to build career aspirations for the future.”
