Students studying Floristry at Bridgwater College’s Cannington Centre recently joined together to design and construct a memorial wreath to commemorate the end of the First World War.

Floristry students involved in making the wreath: Tamsin Balch, Ruby Cresswell, Trudi Stimson, Hannah Lee, Annabelle Markwick-Smith & Emily Jameson

The wreath was displayed at the Cannington Memorial cross on Armistice Day and became a centre piece when Land-based students from the College took part in a two minute silence to mark the occasion.

Kaleah Teasdale, Floristry Tutor at Bridgwater College said,

“Every year our floristry students take part in this event of remembrance. We feel it is very important to remember those that lost their lives all those years ago. It was a very moving experience for all concerned and we were heartened to witness several passers by stopping to admire the wreath and also pay their respects.”
