The travelling side were hopeful that they would continue their recent run of form, but the first two minutes would diminish their early hopes, conceding in the first two minutes of the match.

They struggled to get themselves into the game, a factor which could be due to the length of travel prior to the fixture. The away team did finally wake themselves up, Nash Eastwood looked lively up front with the ever present Danny Mahoney.

Truro playing with a midfield three in the middle of the park, at times over ran the away team’s middle pairing as they contained the Truro pressure.

The home side continued to create chances from set pieces and extended their lead as keeper Ashton Granter was caught out. A mix up with the defence and the Truro captain swooped in first to head in his sides second of the afternoon. With the score at 2 – 0 the game got tougher as Savvas Petrou was forced off through head injury.

However Elite South fought to remain in the fixture and in the 40th minute finally registered their first shot on target. With momentum growing, on the stroke of half time Tom Blackwell’s header was well saved by Truro’s keeper but Danny Mahoney was there to turn home the rebound to take the score into the break 2 – 1.

Team BC, inspired by their half-time team talk, came out fired up as the weather conditions worsened. The away side continued to struggle from set pieces and the home side scored again through an own goal after the ball was played into the danger area.

Will Bartlett and Joel Dunster started to run the second half from that point on, with the visitors looking the stronger of the two sides towards the end of the game. An injury to Truro’s Captain slowed the game down and took the sting out of the game with both teams cancelling each other out for the last ten minutes, the game finishing 3 – 1 to Truro.

Elite South man of the match was Macaulay John for a solid and confident performance at right back & Centre half.
