Mark Potts, Head Chef of the award-winning Somerset Dining Room at The Mount Somerset Hotel & Spa, is taking over The Quantock Restaurant in Taunton on Thursday 16 March.
He will be working alongside Bridgwater & Taunton College students to create delicious, beautifully presented cuisine for the public.
The Mount Somerset Hotel & Spa has worked with The Quantock Restaurant for over ten years and has always welcomed the students for placements. Many former students have even taken positions as permanent staff; The Restaurant Manager at The Somerset Dining Room, Kris Speechly, studied with the College seven years ago; Emily Nash is a full-time member of their kitchen brigade, having been offered a position after completing a placement the College had arranged at the Hotel.
Mark was previously Head Chef at Fallowfields near Oxford where he was also awarded 3 AA Rosettes. The list of well-respected and highly acclaimed organisations Mark has been involved with includes: The Lords of the Manor, a luxury hotel in the Cotswolds and Le Champignon Sauvage in Cheltenham.
Mark’s food ethos involves using prime ingredients, served with delicious garnishes which are cooked to perfection to extract as much flavour as possible.
