Once again, students studying the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) achieved outstanding results. Staff are incredibly proud of the consistently high scores achieved by students on this prestigious programme.
Bridgwater & Taunton College is the only college in Somerset offering this internationally recognised alternative to A Levels, designed for highly academic and motivated learners. Students are required to study six subjects along with core elements, with a maximum score of 45.
Collectively, this year’s students achieved an average score of 32 points, placing them above the global average of 29 points (2017). Furthermore, several students gained very high scores between 35 and 40 points.
IBDP students receive their results in July, meaning they are in a position to accept university places a month before their A Level counterparts. Amongst the universities at which these students have confirmed places are Exeter, Cardiff and The University of The West of England.
Eleanor Western who achieved 38 points and is heading to Newcastle University, commented, “I’m really happy with my results and glad I studied so many subjects. All the hard work has been worth it and I’m excited to start my degree.”
