Liam scoops runner-up prize in greenkeeping awards | Bridgwater & Taunton College

Liam Pigden, a Bridgwater & Taunton College greenkeeping Apprentice, has achieved a fantastic second place in the Young Student Greenkeeper of the Year category at the regional TORO awards.

Each year the awards enable the British and International Golf Greenkeeping Association (BIGGA), turf maintenance manufacturer Toro and distributor Reesink Turfcare to celebrate those talented young greenkeepers who are dedicating themselves to a career within the industry.

Liam (age 21) is currently studying Level 3 Greenkeeping and works as an Apprentice at Burnham and Berrow Golf Club. The Apprenticeship means that Liam is able to achieve a recognised qualification whilst earning a wage doing a job he loves.

He is delighted with his second place and has now set his sights on the Future Turf Managers Initiative, a national conference designed to help future golf course managers to pursue their career aspirations.
