Dionne Holmans-Price has become the first Bridgwater & Taunton College student to benefit from a Taunton Maids Bursary.

Dionne, who is studying the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Music Technology at the College's Bridgwater Centre, has caring responsibilities and had no means of continuing her Music Technology studies in the family home. The Taunton Maids Bursary has fully funded an iMac computer to enable her to use specialist Music Technology software at home and progress to Year 2 of her course and, ultimately, to university.

The Taunton Maids Bursary provides financial help to young people in Somerset and North Somerset, aged between 16 and 25, to enable them to advance their education in the field of music. Priority is given to those who, without help, might be unable to further their education in music for financial reasons.

For further information about the Taunton Maids Bursary (Music) and the Doris Southcott Bursary (Fashion and Textiles), please visit the Scholarships page of the College website.
