Bridgwater & Taunton College student Emily Rossiter has beaten off competition from across the country to win the Association of Colleges’ Sport Sports Performer of the Year 2017/18.
Since selection for the AoC England netball squad, former Haygrove pupil Emily has played well in national fixtures across four weekends at venues all over the UK, winning Player of the Match in England’s game against Northern Ireland.
She was nominated for the award by her Team BTC netball coach, Carly Martin, who says,
“Emily is a superb role model for her Team BTC teammates, setting the standard for timekeeping, sportsmanship and working hard. Emily plays netball alongside her college studies, where she is achieving a Distinction* profile on her Level 3 Diploma in Sport (Coaching and Development). She also finds time to engage with the community by coaching regular netball sessions at Haygrove School. We are very proud of Emily’s achievement in winning this award.”
