Wednesday 4 January, saw the first game of the New Year, which was played against Richard Huish at the newly built sports hall.
It was a tightly fought game in the first half, both teams were fighting hard, and it was goal for goal as Team BTC fought for the ‘top of the table’ spot. Huish were able to maximise off of the errors made by Team BTC and led at half time by just one goal, 20 – 19.
However, Team BTC came on in the second half determined to play better and played hard to maximise on their strengths. Team BTC defence (Emily Rossiter, Rheanne Lee and Kirsty Richards) made countless turnovers, meaning that Huish were only able to score two goals in the third quarter.
Great attacking play by Siobhan Lynam (GA) and Aerin Phillips (GS) saw Team BTC take a healthy lead and they finished the third quarter 29 – 22 ahead of Huish.
The last quarter saw Team BTC fight hard for every ball and great attacking movement from centre court players Cerys Ethridge, Izzie Draper and Tilly Millburn saw them extend their lead, with the game ending in a comfortable win for Team BTC, 38 – 27.

Wednesday 11 January saw Richard Huish come to Bridgwater for the return leg, they were hungry for a win and went out hard at the start of the game.
Team BTC took a while to settle with new combinations, however again Team BTC wanted every ball and worked as a team to convert as many turnovers as possible. With versatility in the team, changes were made throughout, which strengthened the team and gave them the lead.
With the score close the finish was nail biting, with Team BTC winning by a single goal in the final minutes of the game. The final score was 32 – 31. Both victory’s along with Team BTC’s unbeaten record in the league see them go top of the table.
