More than forty students who are studying Public Services, Business Studies and A Level Law at Bridgwater College were privileged to spend the day with HH Judge Horton from Bristol Crown Court.
Judge Horton delivered a programme called 'The Judicial Awareness Course' which enabled the students to understand how our judicial system works, how it was created and the psychological impact of being a witness. The group were able to study real life cases before enacting a court case, playing the part of the jury.
Judge Horton was given a tour of the College and commented that there was an extremely positive vibe amongst the students. He also mentioned that he was very impressed with the attitude of the group and the way they engaged so well with the course content. HH Judge Horton has since invited some students to work with him as marshals at Bristol Crown Court.
Joe Harding and Jacob Osborne, who are studying the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Public Services at Bridgwater College said,
“It was a really productive day, we gained a lot of information that will help with our assignments. What a fantastic experience!”
