Team BC arrived at St Brendan's looking for their first win of the season after a narrow defeat to Richard Huish last week.

Team BC started slowly, allowing St Brendan's the first points of the game with an impressive try from the opposition centre to get over the whitewash for an early score. The team were spurred on by going behind, scoring two tries of their own. Using a combination of width and powerful ball carrying and allowed Callum Gillard and Charlie Wilcox to finish off excellent team moves.

St Brendan's remained in the fight, working hard as they drove their way back into the game, going under the sticks for a second time. However, as the game progressed Team BC were inconsistent at times with their play, demonstrating excellent forward power and offloading at times, only to waste opportunities due to lack of accuracy at others. Fortunately this wasn’t to be an issue as the game went on as Team BC but were able to register further scores from Struan Main, Joe Buller and Luca Ercolani.

There were still moments where Team BC lacked concentration as some quick thinking from the St Brendan's scrum half meant Team BC conceded again from a penalty scrum, which coincided with the style of play from both sides in the second half became increasingly scrappy and disjointed for periods of play.

It was Team BC who had the last say in the tie as the game ended with an excellent try by Fin Ingham, who received the ball well within his own half clearing several defenders and winning the footrace to the corner.

Team BC coach Roy Davies said,

“We have a talented squad who played some excellent rugby at times. However, we need to learn some lessons quickly, as our lack of accuracy in a number of areas is disappointing, and isn’t allowing us to play the rugby we’re aiming for on a consistent basis. Next week will be a bigger challenge for us, and it’s important we keep working hard in training to continue to improve.”

Final Score:  38 – 19
Tries: Gillard, Main, Buller, Wilcox, Ingham, Ercolani
