Bridgwater & Taunton College (BTC) is celebrating a series of outstanding performances at the South West Trampolining Qualifier, with students showcasing their dedication, skill, and determination across all levels of competition.

The day began with remarkable efforts from Evie Medhurst and Leah Norton, both of whom are new to the sport, having only started trampolining in September and October. Despite their limited experience, they have made incredible progress and competed admirably. Although a few minor mistakes meant they didn’t progress to the next round, their participation highlighted the potential of starting a new sport and what can be achieved in such a short time. BTC is excited to see what the future holds for them.

Chloe Taylor followed with an exceptionally strong performance, demonstrating composure and skill despite unexpected timetable changes. Her hard work paid off, earning her a fourth-place finish and a spot in the next round.

In the Advanced category, Martha Lee delivered a stellar performance, nailing her routines to secure second place and qualification for the next round. Meanwhile, Gracie Gawenda showcased her talent and consistency, taking first place and progressing confidently to the next stage.

BTC’s Elite competitors also made a significant impact. Representing the college were Morgan Boddington, Caitlin Alexander, and Liv Walmsley. Caitlin kicked off with a strong start, including a double somersault, and completed two solid routines to place seventh. Morgan followed with a display of excellent form, earning fourth place, while Liv rounded off the team’s effort with two polished routines, finishing fifth. The trio’s combined performances crowned them the team champions, with Morgan and Liv also qualifying individually for the next round.

Grace Russell excelled in her category, demonstrating focus and skill to achieve a second-place finish and secure her progression to the next round.

Rounding out BTC’s impressive day was DJ McArthur, competing in the final group. Performing two highly technical routines featuring multiple double somersaults, DJ claimed first place in his category and advanced to the next stage of the competition.

BTC is incredibly proud of all the trampolining competitors, who have worked tirelessly to represent the college at such a high level. Their achievements demonstrate the dedication, talent, and opportunities available through BTC’s sports programs.

Congratulations to all the students—you have made the entire BTC community proud!
