The first group of business students completed their work experience this month. Our Level 2 Business students enjoyed diverse and exciting experiences across a number of different industries.

Once again our valued and trusted employers NatWest, Premier Inn, Thomson Travel and Citizens Advice pulled out all the stops to ensure our students had a detailed and fascinating experience. This year the students were also lucky enough to work alongside new employers such as West Hunstpill Primary School, The YMCA, Lloyds Bank and The Fleet Air Arm Museum.

All of our students excelled in their placements enjoying a variety of roles and experiences. Many of our students have chosen to follow these industries and future careers so it is imperative they have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals and complete work in a real life environment.

Our student’s development is extremely important and work placement plays a vital role in not only their practical experiences but also their personal growth. Work placement helps our students learn about themselves, increasing confidence, independence and communication, as well as practical skills such as customer service, team work and time management, it can also help them recognise a future career.

“I had a great time on my work placement, I learnt so many different things about the business and it was just an overall amazing experience.”

Abbie Brogden, Work Placement Coordinator said,

“Once again the students have surpassed expectations, impressing managers and supervisors across the businesses as well as myself and department tutors. They have been able to develop skills to not only help them in securing future employment but also help them develop understanding in their assignment course work. We are grateful to all the businesses that have participated in offering our students work placement as they play a vital role in our students learning”
