Two apprentices from Bridgwater College have recently completed their Manufacturing Sewn Products Apprenticeships with renown bridal designer, Sassi Holford.

In 2010, Sassi was approached by a student from Bridgwater College who was eager to gain an apprenticeship placement with the company. It was this enthusiasm that encouraged Sassi Holford to take on their very first apprentice. Six years on, the bridal company has trained and qualified six apprentices, all of whom have gone on to continue their careers with the company.

Libby Dawson from Cullompton, and Marnie Hooper from Taunton, were presented with their apprenticeship framework certificates to mark the completion of their course at the bridal factory in Wood Street, Taunton.

Michelle Anderson, Training Assessor at Bridgwater College said,

“Working with Sassi Holford has been an exciting experience for all the apprentices. They have gained a Level 2 or Level 3 apprenticeship in Manufacturing Sewn Products to an exceptional high standard using their creativity and knowledge within the textile industry.”

Sassi Holford commented,

“Apprenticeships are not just the future of my business but also the future of the fashion and textile industry as niche manufacturing has already started to return to the UK and this is set to increase over the next few years.”
