With the National Premier Cup Quarter Final a week away, Team BTC’s Men’s 1 footballers played a friendly fixture acted as a warm-up.

Our visitors Coleg Y Cymoedd gave a good account of themselves, but possibly caught Team BTC on the front foot building towards the following week.

Goals in the first period came from Josh Hurford with Oliver Chubb delivery and Brad Pfupa from a Gabe Plant delivery. Then Mike Murphy finished a penalty Callum Chivers won, before Harry Durant crossed for Josh Hurford to get his second header 4- 0.

Our visitors’ task of mounting a response was dulled when one of their players was sent off before the interval.

In the second period, Callum Chivers and Alex Parsons scored good goals, plus Callum Chivers was brought down again for a penalty. There was good captaincy from Mike Murphy, who handed the ball to Josh Hurford to complete his hat trick.

7-0 was the end score line as the side now look forward to a big quarter-final on Wednesday 8 March 2022 at home.
