Truro 24 – 7 Team BTC
A frustrating day for Team BTC Rugby who have only themselves to blame for letting the game get away from themselves. An even contest for the first quarter suddenly went in the favour of Truro with two scores, one from an efficient set play and some sleepy defence from BTC and another from a turnover in the opposition half that was spun wide for Truro to speedily finish. BTC suddenly came to life and scored their response through Reuben Lloyd. Into the second half BTC failed to capitalise on their possession, with numerous dropped balls costing them, along with too many infringements resulting in them giving up territory resulting in two more tries. Bringing the final score to 24-7 in the Cornishman’s favour.

Truro 53 – 12 Team BTC
Team BTC played Truro for their first league game of the season. Truro took a heavy lead during the first half, but BTC wouldn’t let the score define their work rate throughout the game. BTC secured a penalty in the oppositions half leading to a brilliant try from Megan Read in midfield just before half time. This motivated Team BTC to turn the ball over which secured our second try from Katie Escott on her debut making a run from the inside of our own half.
POTM- Katie Radford for her repeated outstanding tackles and brilliant work rate on the pitch.
Netball 1s
Strode 33 – 45 Team BTC
Team BTC took on Strode in their first game of the year. BTC took the lead early, but with Strode keeping the score line close the team had to continue to work hard. The whole team defence this week was incredible with every member getting tips and interceptions throughout the whole game. The whole team worked tirelessly throughout, showing great team moral and positivity.
POTM- Evie Davis, also winning opposition player of the match. Evie, gained 5 interceptions in the game as WA/WD.
Basketball

Men’s Taunton Football
South Devon 1 – 1 Team BTC (won on penalties)
Yesterday was the Taunton’s campus first football game (ever). They travelled to South Devon College in the cup. Playing an attacking 4-3-3 formation they got off to an excellent start, Luis Oliveira beat two defenders and fired at goal for the keeper to parry the ball into Max Cooper’s path to tap into the net on the 15 minute mark.
With several injuries the coaches had to shuffle the pack but BTC went in 1-0 up at half time.
South Devon were the better of the two teams in the second half. BTC had a few chances on the break but failed to test the keeper. The pressure finally took its toll when on the 88th minute the South Devon centre half scored a fantastic header from a corner. With a few minutes added on, the boys managed to hang on for the draw and then onto penalties.
The boys won 5-4 on penalties with saves from Zak Whitaker who was the hero.
POTM – Captain, Logan Thomas, who was excellent at centre back.
