Petroc 37 – 33 Team BTC
BTC made the long trip up to Petroc with a lean squad of 7 players as a few key players were unavailable for selection. There was an even start to the game with Petroc taking a marginal 13-10 lead at the end of the 1st quarter.
Poor finishing and turnovers cost BTC dearly as they allowed Petroc to take a commanding 26-14 lead into half time. BTC regrouped, however, and pledged to play tougher defence for the 2nd half. They were true to their word as Petroc were limited to 3 points in the 3rd quarter, but we were only able to score 6 ourselves.
The comeback seemed on the cards as we played better both defensively and offensively; the lead was pegged back 2 points with Petroc leading 33-31. Unfortunately, it wasn’t meant to be as BTC were left punished by mistakes made earlier in the game and Petroc saw the game out 37-33.
Special mention to captain Alex Taylor who huffed and puffed all game and scored 18 of the team’s 31 points.
Netball 1s
Team BTC 38 – 48 Huish 2

Player of the Match – Tilly Davis.

Men’s 1 Football
South Devon 2 – 2 Team BTC
A slow start with two errors by Team BTC, and our hosts were looking lively in the opening 25 minutes. Quickly, we were 2-0 behind! However, once we adjusted shape and scored our first goal we never looked back, with a far better performance that on a different day would have seen a deserved win.
Blake Kearley scored our first goal from a free kick and Riley Willis scored the equaliser just after the interval. Both well worked opportunities and more akin to the standard of football we’ve come to expect from the side. The opposing keeper made a string of excellent saves to deny us the win as we returned to Somerset with a 2-2 Draw.
Spotlight Player – Blake Kearley, who carried a strong attacking threat and was equally as effective winning the ball back.
Men’s Taunton Football
Total Pro Soccer 8 – 2 Team BTC
Men’s Taunton football team took on a strong Total Pro Soccer team at Keynsham Town FC. It was a quick start to the game with BTC missing a solid chance to take the lead, but it was Total Pro Soccer who got themselves in front with a good finish from the edge of the box.
Unfortunately, things didn’t get much better and BTC were 6-0 down at the half-time break. It was a spirited 2nd half where the players showed lots of character. Two goals for BTC came from Logan Thomas and Max Cooper, drawing the second-half.
Player of the Match – Logan Thomas
Women’s Football
Team BTC hosted Coleg y Cymoedd this week at home in the AoC Cat 1 Premier League. Cymoedd brought a strong squad which included 6 Welsh national team players. Team BTC moved the ball nicely throughout the first half with attacking opportunities coming from the midfield. At the end of the half, Mills took a great corner, landing on Charles to finish after a clever movement in the set piece.
Team BTC changed shape at half-time to allow success through the midfield to create more attacking opportunities. This worked well for BTC who kept possession of the ball excellently and were more organised out of possession. Another goal came at the end of the second half, again from a corner! Another solid delivery from Mills landing again on Charles who secured the finish.
Player of the Match – Lily Charles, for her game understanding and ability to adapt, allowing us to create attacking opportunities throughout the game.
