Men’s Rugby
Weston 14 – 31 Team BTC
Team BTC made the short trip up the motorway to face Weston College. With conditions perfect for rugby Team BTC made a strong start with two early try’s, first from Fin Sperring who dummied and sliced through the Weston Defence and then followed by George Francis powering over from short range.
A third was added before half time after Jono Hayes kicked through and dotted down to take the score to 19-7 at half time. A sometimes frustrating second half was punctuated by two moments of excellence, first Jono Hayes scored his second, where he ripped the ball in the tackle within BTC’s own 22 and raced the length untouched. The final try was scored after an excellent team move from the always powerful BTC scrum on the left-hand side, Jackson Hurley exchanged passes with debutant Ollie Manchip for Jackson then finishing in the right-hand corner to bring the final score to 31-14.
