Team BTC 66 vs Weston 19

Team BTC netball played their last home game of the season today against Weston College. They began the match on a positive note after winning the first centre pass and although both teams took the first few minutes of the quarter to settle down and calm their nerves, Team BTC soon pulled away winning multiple interceptions throughout the court. Despite a new combination in defence with Kylie making her debut at GK, the defenders put pressure on the opposition and made multiple interceptions and tips restricting the oppositions goals to just 2. The first quarter ended 16-2 to Team BTC.

In the second quarter, Team BTC continued to control the game with centre court players bringing the ball down towards the circle with ease and feeding strong passes into the shooters followed by accurate shots. This was Team BTC’s highest scoring quarter with half time ending 35- 8.

Team BTC kept up the intensity and repeatedly scored from their centre passes as well as converting multiple of Weston’s. This allowed only 4 goals to get past the defenders with Izzy intercepting numerous overhead passes into the circle and Claudia putting defensive pressure to cause balls to go off of the back line. The third quarter ended 52-12.

In the final quarter, Team BTC made some changes trying out some new combinations throughout the court. Katie B made her debut at GA with accurate shooting and effective movement in the circle as well as Katie H moving back to her favourite position GD. The game ended with the final score being 66-19 allowing Team BTC to remain undefeated this season.
