Bridgwater College’s The Walled Gardens of Cannington’s 2015 assessment from Visitor Attraction Quality Assurance Scheme, VisitEngland, has once again named the attraction as 'very good'.

The report looked at all areas of the attraction, from the website, social media, signage, the plant collections and communications, and praised the Gardens’ staff for their horticultural knowledge.

Nigel Philpott, VisitEngland Assessor said,

“Since the last visit, works have taken place on site to improve the visitor entrance and first impressions, whilst building works have been completed and a new car parking facility has opened. Grounds were kept in very good condition. There were a good number of seats, thoughtfully placed, in good order and well painted. It was a nice touch to have the garden seats painted blue within the Blue Garden. Overall, the Gardens left a very favourable impression, being well maintained and offering plenty of variety and interest for the garden connoisseur or casual visitor.”

Simon Grundy, Head of Agriculture, Food and Land Management at Bridgwater College said,

“We are delighted with the comments from the report. It has been a challenging few years with renovation work to Cannington Court impacting on visitors’ experiences, however since this has been completed, visitor comments have been very positive. We strive to provide a high standard of customer service and we are pleased this has been recognised in the report, from the staff in the Tea Room and Gift Shop, to the gardeners who plant over 10,000 bulbs a year!”
