At Bridgwater & Taunton College, the Erasmus+ team work to develop links abroad and secure funding to enable students and staff to develop their skills and work collaboratively across Europe.
About us
Bridgwater and Taunton College is involved in several European projects that directly tie into its strategic development, innovation and modernisation strategies. Active involvement in such projects is key; the College now has many years’ experience in the promotion and development of new teaching methodologies, the use of new technologies in the learning process, new developments in curriculum, resource development, and the development of processes and procedures supporting mobility.
Recent moves in this direction include participation in more KA2 and KA3 projects and more applications under KA1 mobility. The College has been successful in securing funding for 2019 – 2021, meaning it is able to send more staff and students on mobilities abroad.
During 2018/19, a total number of 20 students were involved in a mobility or a project. There has been a significant rise in the number of people interested in Erasmus+ opportunities at the College and hearing about students’ positive experiences has enabled staff to see the scope Erasmus+ has for their learners.
The College also encourages staff to get involved with Erasmus+, with a total of 25 staff either completing a mobility or being involved with a project during 2018/19.

European partners
The Erasmus+ team at BTC has had the opportunity to work with many fantastic colleges, businesses and universities, all of which are highly reliable, trustworthy and effective. All of the partners have vast curriculums across all vocational areas, and therefore fit into the college’s European Strategy extremely well. The fact that our partners have consistently exceeded expectations indicates that there is scope to extend these relationships further and widen participation in terms of curriculum areas and staff/student numbers. So far, these close relationships have produced some outstanding mobilities/projects for students and staff.
