Cannington Equestrian Centre

Welcome to Cannington Equestrian Centre, a British Horse Society (BHS) approved training and exam centre based in Somerset, proudly a part of Bridgwater & Taunton College.

Bridgwater & Taunton College offers a variety of land-based courses including equine studies.

The centre is open to the public all-year round, and our BHS APC’s offer quality instruction on our wide variety horses or on your own. Private and group lessons are available for riders (aged 14 years+), alongside evening stable management lectures and holiday activities such as clear round jumping days and grid jumping sessions.

The facilities, available to hire, include an indoor arena (42m x 22m), an outdoor arena (50m x 40m), a range of show jumps, fillers, portable cross-country fences and two stable blocks to house our quality schooled horses, which cater for all riding abilities. We also have use of the classrooms for training courses. A team of experienced British Horse Society qualified instructors provide the riding tuition.

Weight Limit and Riding Alternates

Here at Cannington Equestrian Centre, we have a weight limit of 13.5 stone for our horses and also do not take bookings for under 14-year-olds. We offer care and non-ridden sessions at the centre for anyone to book onto, more information can be found on our What’s On page.
