Do you recognise the power of ‘T Levels’ on a CV?
Competency Comparable to 3 A Levels
T Levels stand as a dynamic alternative to A levels, apprenticeships, and other post-16 pathways. They match the academic weight of 3 A levels, emphasising vocational proficiency designed to pave the way for skilled employment, further studies, or apprenticeships.
45-Day Industry Placement
Central to every T Level is an intensive industry placement spanning a minimum of 45 days. This equips students with authentic workplace insights, while employers gain a sneak peek into the emerging talent within their sector.
80% Classroom, 20% Workplace
Depending upon the subject and sector, T Level curriculum typically allocates 20% of the course for industry work placements, translating to between 315 and 350 hours. This approach ensures students absorb the practical and technical acumen required for their chosen vocation.
T Levels represent a Wide Range of Sectors
BTC is proud to be one of the largest providers of T Levels in Somerset, covering a broader spectrum of industries compared to many regional counterparts. We currently offer T Levels in fields like Construction, Digital, Education & Childcare, Health, Automotive, Business Management and Account, Legal, and Engineering. Moreover, we’re always evolving, with new courses on the horizon.
T Level Facilities are State-of-the-Art
Over £1.6 million has been channelled into BTC’s Taunton campus, dedicated to enriching the learning space for T Level students. Key highlights include our state-of-the-art Digital Suite equipped with top-tier computers, a spacious viewing screen, comfortable seating, and versatile conference and breakout spaces.
T Levels: A Win-Win for All
Our feedback is a testament to the success of T Levels. Students often express newfound inspiration and drive from their multifaceted learning, while employers commend them for their exemplary demeanour, domain knowledge, and teamwork. Numerous employers, recognising the potential, have even extended job offers, apprenticeships, or further developmental opportunities to these students.
Taking on industry placement students is a great way to introduce people into an industry that can appear daunting from the outside. It enables us to help them identify which direction they want to take their career.
